SPECIAL INSTALLATIONS: THE IMPACT BONDING PROCESS

SAPI has designed and manufactured special turnkey installations, which have set the standards in many industries. The outstanding one among these applications is certainly the complete automation of the impact bonding process, in the production of stainless steel cookware. The SAPI solution includes :
- destacking stations for stainless steel (either flat or pre-drawn) and aluminium discs
- manipulators to load them on the spot welding rotary table, after checking and eventually offloading a double part
- turnover station and manipulator to prearrange and load the pot body, normally arriving - bottom up - from the washing tunnel
- turnover station and manipulator to offload the pot after spot welding and load it on the induction heating system
- manipulator and roll conveyor to pick up the pot after heating operation has been completed and take it to press
- transfer system to load the pot on the friction screw press and offload it after the press stroke

Many options available including automatic centring devices on the destackers and pots temperature monitoring before the friction screw press.
